Good morning! “I Love New York” on the coffee mug shown above is a registered trademark owned by the NY Department of Economic Development (state level). It was introduced in July of 1977, along with the song, as an advertising campaign to promote tourism. The song, “I Love New York,” became the New York State anthem in 1980. The logo is amazing, and New York has filed thousands of objections against imitators. I used to have a coffee cup like this and it was one of my favorites.
